GP Net Earnings 2015/16
All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings (average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working six months or more in The Nuffield Practice in the last financial year was £56,657 before Tax and National Insurance. This is for 8 part time and 2 locum GPs.
Extended Hours Access at the Neighbourhood Hub
Nuffield Practice patients now have even better access to a doctor at the weekends and in the evenings. Neighbourhood Access Hubs developed by Principal Medical Limited (PML) on behalf of Oxfordshire practices in 2015, have extended their opening hours so that yet more patients can benefit from national GP Access funding (GPAF). This is great news for the 300,000+ patients registered with the 36 PML GP Federation practices in Oxfordshire.
The aims of the service remain the same; patients requesting a pre-bookable GP appointment at their own practice, may be offered an appointment at a nearby location, with a local GP or nurse who has access to their medical records.
This provides more appointments for patients during the day, the evenings and at weekends, while relieving GP practices of some of the pressure of providing treatment for minor illnesses.
What does this mean for you?
- No change in the booking process for appointments.
- You may be offered an appointment during normal or extended hours at a Hub location.
In West Oxfordshire, Hub sessions are held in Witney’s Windrush Health Centre (Ground floor). Appointments can be booked through your usual GP practice. Hub appointments at Windrush Health Centre (Ground floor) are available at various times, between the hours of 8.00am and 8.00pm, Monday to Friday, and on Saturday mornings. Pre-bookable appointments may be available at other local West Oxfordshire GP practices between 6.30pm and 8.00pm.
Your usual GP practice can provide up-to-date information on appointment times and locations of Hubs.
Making more time available at the Surgery means that we will be able to put more focus into preventive care, offering longer appointments and concentrated treatment for patients with long-term conditions and complex needs.

PROBLEMS WITH PATIENT ACCESS
Unfortunately the website, which our patients use for ordering prescriptions and booking appointments online, is experiencing technical problems. We are unable to affect the speed of the resolution of the problem but we are aware of it and will keep you updated on progress. If you have an urgent request for medication, then please call the Practice on 01993 703641 and choose option 2.
If you cannot access the Patient Access site from the link above under 'Prescriptions', please update your browser from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome. This should solve the issue. Alternatively, you can go straight to the Patient Access website: www.patient.emisaccess.co.uk/account/login
ARE YOU TRAVELLING ABROAD?
We now have an assessment form for you to fill in and bring along to your first appointment with the Nurse. The form will help the Nurse understand where you are going and which travel vaccinations you will need. Please go to the 'Travel Vaccinations' page in the Further Information section.
